The adults in the building/setting influence the tone for SEL implementation throughout the environment, from home based child care to child care centers, schools and districts. There are resources to help all educators develop their own knowledge, skill-set and commitment to SEL. Here are a few:

Professional Development

 

MiRegistry- The Michigan Registry supports and validates professional growth of child care and Other Early Childhood and Out of School Time professionals by serving as a one-stop-shop to track employment, education and training history; plan professional development with access to easy-to-read individual training summaries; find quality professional growth opportunities on the MiRegistry Statewide. MiRegistry also serves as a statewide trainer approval system that promotes quality professional development opportunities in the Early Childhood and School-Age field. Home - miregistry


Michigan Virtual Courses-There are nine courses to support educators learning around SEL. Each course is free and offers SCECHs (between 2-8 depending on the course). Courses cover topics like Schoolwide Implementation, SEL and Trauma, Adult SEL and Self-care, SEL and MTSS, SEL and Equity, SEL and Assessment. To find out more and register for a course go to

 

Research
